Fox 5: Lion Lunch hour

I joined my cousin, Tony Jackson, on air last holiday season to cook our favorite comfort foods, promote his new company EatThisCaterYou, and demo culinary techniques. The live segment aired for an hour and was part of Fox5’s Lion Lunch Hour series, which featured local chefs, bartenders, and industry leaders.

My demonstrations included a cornbread muffin recipe inspired by my roots in North Carolina. I also taught home cooks how to supreme a citrus and and zest the skin without reaching the bitter pith.

On November 12, 2023, I became the Grand Prize Winner of the Bethesda Farmers Market Pie Contest. It was an amateur competition and I had no formal culinary training. I won Best Overall Pie and Best Savory Pie with a Mushroom Cheddar Sage pie.

Two years later, I returned as a judge and full-time professional chef.
