On November 12, 2023, I became the Grand Prize Winner of the Bethesda Farmers Market Pie Contest. I won Best Overall Pie and Best Savory Pie with my flavorful, herbaceous Mushroom Cheddar Sage pie.The secret ingredient? Fresh herbs organically grown in my tiny garden. This pie stood out as a “clear winner” from over 20 entries across 5 different categories.
PIE for charity
After the awards ceremony, slices of pie were sold to the public with 100% of the proceeds going to Manna Food Center. Contestants also made donations to Manna for entry. In total, the 2023 Bethesda Farmers Market Pie Contest raised over $1,200 to help fight food insecurity.
